“Couldn’t Preview File” Error Message in Google Drive

Google Drive is an excellent collaborative platform. You can share and access files from across multiple platforms with all different people. However, this level of access can lead to some unexpected problems.

Occasionally you may try and access a shared file and receive instead the lovely “Couldn’t Preview File” error message. This can be caused by multiple factors. The two most likely factors include:

• Trying to access a file such as a Microsoft file that is incompatible with your browser
• You do not have sufficient bandwidth to access the file
